Natural Vitality in 4 Easy Steps

There is a lot of confusion out there. Eat this! Not that! The next week that advice is out and something new is in to eat and avoid. Where does someone start?


What if I told you, this is all by design. It makes better business sense for food companies to keep you in the dark about what to eat. It is the same reason they were able to lobby against easy to understand traffic light labeling for the healthfulness of food, and a completely arbitrary and unuseful system was adopted.


Well guess what? I have spent the better part of the past decade working my way through the seas of information just so I can be a better guide for you! Check out just how easy this really is!


1. Eat whole foods.

What is a whole foods, plant based diet? Simply put it is a diet that prioritizes whole, unprocessed plant foods, while limiting meat, fish, and dairy products, and avoiding highly processed foods altogether.


The more plant based the better! There's a lot of conflicting information out there, but there is enough scientific evidence to conclude that a whole foods, plant based diet is the healthiest for a long life filled with an abundance of energy, and free from most diseases. Now this isn't to say vegan or vegetarian. Just aim at eating 90% of your calories from these kinds of foods. The other 10% from animal foods. This ratio can fit into whatever diet or lifestyle you are attracted too, from paleo, to Mediterranean, to whatever one comes next. Having this foundation under you, and you'll go far!


2. Get that booty moving!

Get a hobby. Get gardening. If you are like me, you don't like going and spending hours at the gym on machines inside. I had to find exercises that inspired me, excited me, and I actually looked forward to. This translated into being outdoors hiking, glacier viewing, waterfall hunting, foraging, you get the picture. So go do you!


3. Seek out natural options whenever possible.

This one is huge! These aren't ranked in any sort of order because they are all equally important if you want to live a long and healthy life. It today's world you must be willing to put in the effort to educate yourself on the best options available for yourself, your family, and of course your furbabies. Big Pharma would love you to just repeat their old, tired, flat-earth medicine rhetoric and sleep well at night. But you must ask questions. You must listen to your intuition. Listen to that maybe still small voice inside you that says, something doesn't add up here!


I've been doing this exact thing for the better part of the last decade. It seems when you pull on one string, other loose ends start coming out and pretty soon the whole system collapses on itself when truth is added to the equation. So far our favorites natural solutions are:


Homeopathic remedies: This was my first leap of faith into the natural world. And it was quite a jumping off point. I wanted the science to "prove without a shadow of a doubt how and why this method worked." Well we just don't have that capability yet, but we are getting close. What I did see was our dog with extreme anxiety and vaccinosis symptoms seeming to heal himself, and then most shockingly our 4 month old puppy healing herself from a combination infection of Lymes and Anaplasmosis. She literally brought herself back from the brink of death twice with the help of homeopathic remedies. Not once did we ever harm her immune system by giving her antibiotics because we didn't have to. Now this is judicious use of our precious antibiotic resources.


Nosodes: My next discovery. An alternative to immunity without all the side effects, chemicals, and worry. After much education on how our immune system actually works (vs what Big Pharma would like us to believe) I decided to try these for our pups.


Back when I thought I was the A++ Dog Mom, I decided to test out to see if my Harley actually needed that yearly vaccine. I had just learned about titers and asked the Vet to do a titer test instead of giving Harley the vaccine. The titer measures antibodies in his system and can tell if medically he actually needed that vaccine or not (now I have learned a lot more about titering and the immune system, but back then I wanted this "medical" assurance.) The vet looked at me perplexed. Why would I want to pay $200 for titerring when the vaccine was only $19?? Well because I wanted to see which Vet was right. Turns out our Homeopathic Vet knows what he's doing. Harley's levels came back higher that the vaccine would have offered. So there was no medical reason to take the risks of an additional vaccine. Especially when he was showing classic symptoms of vaccinosis.


I've watched these work so well that we now have found this same option for all the childhood immunizations. Immunity without all the junk! Exactly what I have been asking doctors for, for the past 3 years!


When the flat-earth medicine folks want you to believe you only have one option for immunity, please steer right past them and on to real health and immunity!


Essential Oils: I use these for everyday wellness for our whole family, furbabies included. The everyday emergencies, the aches, pains, sore joints/back, and digestive problems. The breathing, focus, immune building needs. Cell health, prevention lifestyle, energy, inflammation, and most recently in my emotional and energy healing work. And these ways are really only the tip of the iceberg of options.


I had discovered Homeopathy first, and fell in love with options that I never knew existed. Yet, I wanted something easy enough to have at home and to be able to learn quickly. And only when I found a high-quality brand did I finally see the light on essential oils. Just like care goes into growing the best food for our family, care must be afforded to growing the plants that provide us with 90% of our healthcare needs! And only one brand has been able to prove they meet this level of care, time after time.

4. Avoid unnecessary synthetic chemicals.

This is the last, but certainly one of the most important steps. Synthetic chemicals can wreak havoc on our immune systems, make our brains foggy, impact our respiratory system, and deplete our energy. No bueno!

My best advice is to go through your cupboards and make a list of all the items you wouldn't put in your eye. Every single one of these can be replaced with a health building, natural option. So choose which one you use the most and want to replace first. From there search our blog and pinterest pages for our curated list of recipes.


And note this is a journey. I didn't wake up one day and have all these steps in place. So take your time, be kind with yourself, and get on this Natural Path!
