How to Easily Uncover Your Purpose

Updated: Feb 16, 2019

Have you spent a great deal of time looking to find out what your passion or purpose is? Have you read a ton of books, looked at a ton of Instagram posts, just to figure out what you want to be when you grow up? Have you prayed you would discover it and finally, FINALLY be on the path to serving others in the way only you can?

Have you long understood that you have a purpose, a reason you were put on this planet? That no one else on the planet has your set of strengths, in your dominate order, and calibrated just like yours. Have you been told you need a niche for your business? Once you find your niche, then people will line up to do business with you. They will want to do business with you. You won't be selling to them, you'll be serving them. But you just need to find that purpose, that passion, that one thing that makes you unique, sets you apart, your niche.

Have you felt frustrated when it hasn't shown up? Felt like a failure that you and your business haven't taken off like you said you would? A failure because you aren't a success yet. Yet another day goes by and you feel utterly lost in a sea of everyone else who seems to have figured it out. What did they do? What steps did they take? What books did they read? What trainings did they buy that got them there? Maybe I need to do X, Y, and Z. That will help me identify this.

Does any of this sound familiar? Maybe you haven't been obsessed as I have been. It has grown to obsession levels for me over the past 4 years. As I felt like I'm ready, I want to serve, I want to have a major positive impact on society, I want to help as many people as I possibly can, and I am wasting time not knowing what sets me apart from everyone else. Spinning in circles of options, and chasing paths just to find dead-ends. What are my unique talents (do I even have a talent?)?

The only thing left to try, was a Life Coach. I had known one would help me for quite some time. But I was scared of spending the money. My business wasn't taking off. And I was spending money before I had it. I had done that before and gotten us in trouble. What if that happens again?

But hiring my Life Coach was the turning point in my entire journey. Working one to one with her was exactly what I needed. I had been through all the online courses, all the group classes, but I needed someone familiar enough with my life to help me put all the pieces together.

When I brought all this pain to her, she looked at me quizzically. "You have it all backwards," she said. "To find your passion, your purpose, what you were put on this planet to do, what only you can do.....You Look INWARD, not outward. You have to listen to your heart. Listen to what God has put on YOUR heart. What is He calling you to do. You won't "find it" out there. You must quiet your mind enough to hear your heart."

Little did I know, my mind was never the one in control. Though it convinced me it was. It convinced me I had to know what everyone else was doing, so I could pick off the list of what is already being done. When I stopped all the frantic searching, and learned how to rest (<---KEY)....it all fell into place like they said it would.

Trainings showed up. Teachers showed up. Resources showed up.

I literally have been Googling the same phrase for 4 years. Never did this program I am in now show up, and it's not a new program. It came in God's time. When I was fully able to recognize it was for me. Who knows, maybe it did come up and I missed it because I wasn't clear on my passion or purpose. Now I know the key.

What will you learn, when you quiet your mind enough to hear your heart?
